On April sixteen, Ecuador was hit by the worst natural disaster in the country in over 60 years. The earthquake hit the pacific coast with tragic consequences, causing invaluable loses and damages. Manabí and Esmeraldas Provinces located on the coastline were seriously affected, in some cases a vast number of communities and locations lost approximately 90% of their infrastructure, leaving many families homeless and desperate.
On the vicinity of the disaster many hands came together to help the people in need. As part of the immense reconstruction efforts being carried on the area, CEPP join efforts with two architecture studios in Quito (MCM+A and ERDC) to alleviate the basic need of shelter in Coaque, a small community located in Manabí.
The project culminated successfully on September 2016, with the construction of the Community Center in Coaque.
