Komuna project next step is to create a very innovative mobile app that will allow people to connect with a vast community of ecoturism vendors and their offer.


The Komuna Project is a unique and innovative initiative carried on by CEPP to invigorate local economies, create sustainable livelihoods and help protect Ecuador’s national parks and reserves. 

This program is designed to connect people from all over the world with the unique experience of living Ecuador’s biodiversity and its unique landscapes through the eyes of the communities who protect them. Komuna Project mission is to establish ecotourism as the main economic activity in as many rural communities as possible and reduce illicit commercial activities such as poaching, illegal logging & mining, illegal wildlife trade, etc. while creating new jobs and business opportunities for tens, hundreds and ultimately thousands of families in the years to come.

The project's main objective is to invigorate local economies and create sustainable livelihoods in Ecuador’s protected areas, positioning tourism as the main economic activity in communities living in protected areas.

The project has four main components:

1. Technology innovation

2. Ecotourism promotion

3. Professional training

4. Environmental awareness
